They both die. The two figures are not real by the way, they are Van Kooten and De Bie. They have founded a fictitious party: the Counterparty. It is a parody of right-wing populist parties. But the two are hugely popular, and in polls they can even count on seats. With the fake coup, the two "Free Boys" disappear from view. 10 mei 1997 - DELTA WORKS COMPLETELY FINISHED WITH DELIVERY MAESLANTKERING Hoek van Holland - The last part of the Delta Works will be completed: the Maeslant barrier. This fully automatic, movable barrier should the hinterland (Rotterdam, Dordrecht) protect against high water. The barrier will close automatically when the water level rises in Rotterdam 3 meters above sea level (or in Dordrecht 2,9 meters above sea level).
