13 mei 1619 – PREMIER OF OLDENBARNEVELT BEADED

The Hague - The protracted conflict between Stadtholder Maurice and Council Pensioner Johan van Oldenbarnevelt has come to an end. Van Barneveld, comparable as the first prime minister of the Netherlands, is beheaded. Both men initially liked it, with Maurice as army leader and Van Oldenbarnevelt as politician. But conflicts arose over the years, including about the Battle of Nieuwpoort and the Twelve Years' Truce. In 1618 Maurice made a coup and had Van Oldenbarnevelt arrested. Op 12 mei 1619 the death sentence was pronounced.

13 mei 1946 – WINSTON CHURCHILL VISITS ROTTERDAM CITY COUNCIL

Rotterdam – British former Prime Minister Winston Churchill will also visit Rotterdam during his trip through the Netherlands. Mayor Oud appoints him as an honorary member of the council. In 1954 In honor of this visit, a memorial will also be unveiled in the hall of City Hall.

13 mei 1984 - CRUIJFF STOPPED WITH FOOTBALLS

Rotterdam – Johan Cruijff is no longer a professional footballer. The match Feyenoord - PEC Zwolle (2-1) was his last league game. He scores after fifteen minutes (1-1). Ten minutes before the end, he is substituted for Mario Been. Cruijff had only said his farewell to the club a day earlier. He "couldn't give everything anymore", let him know.

13 mei 2008 - BUILDING TU DELFT burnt down

Delft – One of the TU Delft buildings is destroyed by a major fire. The building largely collapses due to the fire. A water pipe breaks on the seventh floor, causing a short circuit, one floor below. The Faculty of Architecture was located in the building.
