03 november 1918 – ROTTERDAM: SECURE 40 KILLS FROM SPANISH FLU PER DAY IN THE CITY Rotterdam – The municipality of Rotterdam is sounding the alarm about the high number of deaths caused by the Spanish Flu. In a short time, the daily number of deaths identified by the pandemic has risen from 20 naar 40. In total, due to the disease 38.000 Dutch people dead (on a population of 6.500.000). The law was written by a special committee headed by Thorbecke. King William II was afraid of political unrest, when in other countries that had been the case.
