03 november 1918 – ROTTERDAM: SECURE 40 KILLS FROM SPANISH FLU PER DAY IN THE CITY

Rotterdam – The municipality of Rotterdam is sounding the alarm about the high number of deaths caused by the Spanish Flu. In a short time, the daily number of deaths identified by the pandemic has risen from 20 naar 40. In total, due to the disease 38.000 Dutch people dead (on a population of 6.500.000).

03 november 1848 - NEW CONSTITUTION IN FORCE

Den Haag – In The Hague proclaimed the new constitution. The law was written by a special committee headed by Thorbecke. King William II was afraid of political unrest, when in other countries that had been the case. The Constitution 1848 is still the basis of the current constitution.

03 november 1994 – FEYENOORD TO NEXT ROUND AFTER TOP POT AGAINST WERDER BREMEN

Rotterdam / Bremen – Feyenoord qualified for the third round of the European Cup II after a 4-3 victory in Germany against Werder Bremen. The leg was already 1-0 won. Zo’n 7.000 Rotterdam spectators see their club win in Bremen.
