12 december 1936 - MOERDIJK BRIDGE TOO FOR CARS NEGOTIABILITY

Dordrecht – Queen Wilhelmina cut twice a ribbon at the new Moerdijk Bridge between Moerdijk and Dordrecht island. First they do on the north side. Then she walks to the Brabant side to it again by cutting a ribbon. This makes it possible not only trains (since 1871), but now cars on the bridges.

12 december 1992 – Protesters FOREST PLANT COMING FROM RUBBLE DUMP

Vlaardingen – In protest against the plans for a rubble dump between Vlaardingen and Maassluis, decide 8.000 people to plant a tree in the Lickebaertpolder. The Growing Resistance Foundation forest will be named the Volksbos'. The plant works, because the plans for the landfill will not.
