18 maart 1984 – BUMBLEM AT TENNIS FINAL IN AHOY

Rotterdam – During the final of the ATP tournament in Ahoy, the entire hall was cleared in the second set between Lendl and Connors.. An anonymous call had come in, with the announcement that there was a bomb in the room. 45 minutes later it turns out that there is no bomb, but then the tennis toppers are already in their hotel. And they don't plan to come back either. The final will never be played.

18 maart 1943 – MAASSLUIS BOMBED BY ALLIES

Maassluis – Part of the historic center of Maassluis is bombed by the Allies. Add to that 18 mensen om het leven. The bombs were intended for an oil refinery, but they end up in a residential area.

18 maart 1945 – ROTTERDAM-NORTH AFFECTED BY V1 BOM

Rotterdam – The area around the Treubstraat in Rotterdam-North is hit by a V1 bomb. It turns out to be the last bomb on Rotterdam during the Second World War. Getting to the blast 42 mensen om het leven. In 2018 is the drama commemorated for the first time.

18 maart 1984 – GREAT ESCAPE PRISON SCHEVENINGEN; 15 PRISONERS OUT

Scheveningen – Knowing on a Sunday morning 15 prisoners to escape from the Scheveningen House of Detention. One of the prisoners had smuggled a firearm in and managed to overpower several guards. Then they release all the prisoners. three men, including the one with the weapon, show up in Capelle Schollevaar and are arrested in Rotterdam. Eventually there 9 found.

18 maart 2010 – ROZENBURG PART OF ROTTERDAM

Rozenburg – Despite protests and a call for a referendum, Rozenburg is 18 maart 2010 part of Rotterdam.
